Due to the nature of the watersports business, we are open seven days a week (8:00 am – 5:00 pm). Work is seasonal and weather dependent. The business season runs from April-October.
We offer full-time and part-time jobs on the beach. Working weekends and holidays are a must. J1 students are welcome to apply!
Positions Available

In this position you will greet customers, create and manage reservations, handle a high-volume multi-line phone, walk customers through the check-in process and waivers, operate the POS system, and demonstrate clear communication. This position can be very fast-paced at times. The ability to think on your feet and multi-task is a must!
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years in customer service or related experience is required
- Reliable, professional, energetic, and friendly!
- Must be able to effectively and confidently communicate in person and via phone
- Flexible scheduling is a must
- Previous knowledge in watersports/watercraft is preferred (but not required)
- Must be willing to learn about watercraft operations and safety procedures
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent

Beach staff ensure customer safety, organization, and demonstrate strong customer service skills. This position is physically demanding and involves comfort with the ocean and exposure to the sun. Clear communication with customers and staff is required. You must be able to problem solve, think on your feet, and multi-task. Punctuality is imperative!
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 year in customer service or related experience is preferred
- Must be comfortable with the ocean/exposure to the sun
- Must be able to keep up with the physical demands of the job
- Effectively and confidently communicate in person
- Previous knowledge in watersports/watercraft is preferred (but not required)
- Must be willing to learn and comply with safety procedures
- CPR Certifications are strongly preferred

Parasail first mates must be reliable, safety-oriented, and comfortable on the water all day. This position requires punctuality and sea legs! Your first and foremost job is safety, then customer service. You will interact with every customer on board (of all ages), making them feel comfortable, safe, and happy. This position requires knowledge of the mechanics of parasailing, from inflation to deflation. You will also be the photographer, capturing the guests’ experience.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Able to pass mandatory drug tests
- CPR certifications are preferred
- Must comply with and enforce safety rules and regulations
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable, professional, and performs well under pressure
- A positive attitude and enjoying being on the water are a must!

We are looking for banana boat and shuttle captains!
Downwind Sails employs captains who hold a 6-pack license or higher. Captains can hold various positions at Downwind, including parasail operator, shuttle captain, or banana-boat captain. These positions are critical in the day-to-day operations of the business. The most crucial duty is putting safety first! Customer service is a close second place. This position requires a proven knowledge of watercraft safety and performance, as well as the mechanics of the vessel. You will perform daily vessel safety inspections and maintenance and log records as required.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum license required: 6-pack
- Valid CPR Certification
- Must be able to swim and physically assist customers in water
- Previous operator experience is preferred
- Must establish the highest priority of ensuring the safety of passengers, crew, and vessel
- Must be dependable and show up on time everyday
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Must be competent in discretion (and common sense!)

We are looking for a qualified applicant with experience as a parasail operator. Downwind Sails employs captains who hold a 6-pack license or higher. This position is critical in the day-to-day operations of the business. The most crucial duty is putting safety first! Customer service is your second highest priority.
This position requires a proven knowledge of watercraft safety and performance, as well as the mechanics of the vessel. You will perform daily vessel safety inspections and maintenance and log records as required. Customer volume is high with a fleet of four parasail boats in downtown Myrtle Beach.
Responsibilities:
- Must comply with and enforce safety rules and regulations
- Flexible with changing environments – especially weather related
- Must establish the highest priority of ensuring the safety of passengers, crew, and vessel
- Must be dependable and show up on time every day
- Provide exceptional customer service
Qualifications:
- Must pass mandatory drug tests
- CPR certification is required
- Minimum license: USCG 6-pack
- At least two years experience as a parasail operator (strongly preferred)
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays, as needed
